Come and join in the free festivities - you can listen to live bands while watching dance performances, strolling along to the food booths, visiting the Beer & Wine Garden for a taste of the bubbly, and taking the children to the pony rides, and inflatable toys - fun for the whole family!

Lance Lambert

Well-known TV and local star, Lance Lambert will serve as emcee as Saturday’s events kick-off at 11 am with the Boy Scout and Cub Scout Pack 499 Honor Guard performing the presentation of colors.

Lance has owned over 35 1940’s through 1970’s automobiles starting with a 1947 Dodge at the age of 14 to today’s currently owned 1950 Studebaker. 415 episodes of his television show “Vintage Vehicle Show” have been broadcast over the past 19 years and are currently seen both nationally and internationally. In addition to his own TV show he has appeared on several other local and national television and radio programs. His automotive topic articles have been published in numerous magazines, periodicals and newspapers and he’s currently a staff writer for several publications. In the past 21 years Lance has appraised over 1500 special interest automobiles and, in addition, is frequently hired for automotive related consulting. He has an extensive collection of automotive and petroleum industry memorabilia and a large automotive reference library. His cars have been utilized in feature films and his garage is occasionally used for filming and was used as a set by the MTV television network. He has performed on stage hundreds of times at various events & comedy clubs and has appeared twice on the Comedy Central television network. Lance is also frequently asked to utilize his talents as an emcee and auctioneer.

Beer & Wine Garden

Saturday also features another event – back by popular demand – a wine and beer garden.  Open between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. this event is being sponsored by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce.  Wine (from at least 5 different wineries) and beer will be available “by the glass,” and by the bottle to enjoy at home. This event is for adults, 21 and over, and IDENTIFICATION WILL BE CHECKED/CONFIRMED.

Newcastle Historical Society's Booth

Come and take a peek at Newcastle Historical Society's booth and meet a legend in his own right,92-year-old Milt Swanson, co-president of the society and a former Newcastle miner.  He loves to share stories about Newcastle's past and is truly a City treasure.

You are invited to visit the nearby  Newcastle Historical Cemetery  from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Coal was first discovered here in 1863 at the same time Seattle was established. Our coal was King County's biggest industry in the 1880's and helped make Seattle the dominant port on Puget Sound.It mainly went to fuel the growing town of San Francisco after the big migration following the Gold Rush.

Stop by the King County Noxious Weed Program booth and learn how to control invasive noxious weeds found locally.  Free brochures, and new this year - paperless information right to your smart phone!

They have been with us for the last 4 years, and we are glad to see them back with us again this year!  Look for them in the shelter area by the restroom, with the Newcastle Weed Warriors.

Family Fun

There will be plenty of things for the whole family besides the food, booths, performers, and live music. During the day children will be able to enjoy pony rides, and inflatable toys. Check out the schedule for times.
